Wow! Bluegrass fans – now check this lot out!

Now I usually don’t like child prodigies but fans of bluegrass music should check out the Sleepy Man Banjo Boys. Consisting of nine year-old banjo picker Jonny Mizzone along with his brothers Robbie (13) on fiddle, and Tommy (14) on guitar, playing the music of Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers and other post war bluegrass greats.

Click on their YouTube bedroom practice videos. They have had over 6 million viewers  and after the videos started going “viral” last year they were named official Martin Guitar Ambassadors and they made their Grand Ole Opry debut. Their first album, ‘America’s Music’ recorded in Nashville, released in September last year sold over 5,000 copies. On February 16th,  ‘America’s Music’ debuted on Billboard’s Bluegrass Album Chart as the 8th most popular bluegrass album in the country.
