Little Feat wins fully functioning bong as “2011 Indie Band of The Year”

In March last year, Little Feat one of my all time favourite bands won the Doobie for “2011 Band- Indie Artist of the Year’ on the website.

They beat bands such as Disco Biscuits, Radiohead, Vampire Weekend. The ceremony was held in Austin, Texas and at the time, the band posted a message on their website reading: “Plans are currently in the works for an official award presentation to take place during the upcoming US tour. Stay tuned here for further information
and Congrats to Little Feat on this ‘Highly Coveted honor!”

Well, the Feat’s finally go their Doobie award onstage at New York’s City Winery last week. High Times senior editor Bobby Black presented Little Feat with the award before their extended set. With much of the crowd off work for the New Year’s Day holiday, it seemed fitting that the band opened their set with ‘Time Loves a Hero’ and dedicated ‘Don’t Bogart That Joint’ to the people of Jamaica.

In addition, keyboardist Bill Payne discussed his recent songwriting sessions with Robert Hunter, revealing that the pair never met in person but managed to write nine new songs together thanks to the internet.

Lets have a look at the Feat in 1975 fronted by Lowell George from Guitar Hero’s At The BBC doing ‘Rock & Roll Doctor’
